Her stomach twists a little, nervous. Vincent’s always intimidated her to a degree… awed her to another. But… things were different now, weren’t they? Hell, she didn’t even wear the scar that had haunted her life time after life time anymore.

So she bit back on her worries and faintly arched a brow, tilting her head at him. She was being bold, but her expression and voice were still on the meek side.

“…Do I have to?” 

“Absolutely,” he grins sheepishly, hand outstretching to brush back some of the strands from her face. “Wipe it from your mind. I’d rather find far less uncouth words to catch your interest with.” 

Perhaps it was a bit of a low blow - considering a certain someone who might have easily spouted such ‘uncouth words’ without batting a lash - the jesters grin his heartfelt role. No, it definitely wasn’t intended as such though… but the idea of catching her attention with words like His left an unpleasant taste in the back of his mouth. 

His grudge for Trauma had long subsided, but that didn’t mean he was eager to draw such easy comparisons between the other man and himself.
